DESCRIPTION:Each year\, thirty (30) Lafayette Parish high school students in their junior year are selected to attend a 9-month program (August - April) through which they will learn about arts & culture\, education\, local and state government\, healthcare\, emergency response\, economic development\, environmental issues\, and more. After graduating\, the students can continue to expand their leadership abilities by volunteering to serve as ex-officio (non-voting) on a local\, participating\, non-profit board during their senior year. \n\nThis event is closed to the public.
